Características La cápsula Apolo constaba de tres secciones —dos unidas, el módulo de mando (CM) y el módulo de servicio (SM), formando el módulo de mando y servicio (CSM), junto con el módulo lunar (LM), una torre de salvamento y la estructura de adaptación al Saturno V, cohete de lanzamiento—. El tercer astronauta permanece a bordo del módulo de mando, acoplado al de servicio, en órbita circunlunar. El vehículo lanzador es un Saturno V de tres etapas, capaz de llevar hasta la Luna la astronave, que pesa 43 tm aproximadamente.
