Historia El documento arqueológico más importante de Tanis es la estela llamada del año 400, hasta el punto de poder considerarla como la partida de nacimiento de Tanis. Erigida en el reinado de Ramsés II, conmemora un viaje a Tanis para rendir homenaje a Set realizado por un antepasado del rey Seti I en tiempos de Horemheb, hacia 1330 a.C.
